PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: August 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the software application TorchFlame ("Application") and its connected leaderboard server infrastructure ("Services") operated by Adarsh Sai ("we," "us," or "our").

  1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT & HOW IT IS SUBMITTED
We do not require user account registration, nor do we collect traditional personal identifiers such as your full legal name, email address, or account passwords.

Our leaderboard network operates strictly on a manual, opt-in submission system. Data is transmitted to our server only if and when you explicitly click the submission button within the Application. When you submit a run, we collect:

  • Leaderboard Information: The custom nickname you choose to provide, completion times, relevant in-game gameplay statistics, and input/telemetry logs.
  • Video Link Submissions: Any public video URLs (e.g., YouTube or Twitch links) that you explicitly attach to verify your run.
  • Automatically Collected Technical Data: Network and system telemetry, including your IP address. Under applicable data privacy laws (such as the EU GDPR and California CCPA/CPRA), IP addresses are categorized as personal data or personal identifiers. We process IP addresses strictly to secure our backend API, prevent spam/cheating, and ensure server stability.
  1. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION & LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING
We process collected data strictly to:
  • Display your chosen nickname, speedrun stats, and associated video proof links on public global leaderboards.
  • Validate run legitimacy, ban abusive actors/cheaters, and debug backend API crashes.
  • Maintain network security via automated firewall filtering.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR):

  • Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f)): Processing IP addresses and telemetry logs is necessary for our legitimate interests in securing our servers, preventing fraud/cheating, and maintaining the integrity of our leaderboard.
  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): By explicitly clicking the submit button to upload your run, nickname, and video proof, you consent to the public display of that specific submission data.

We do not "sell" or "share" your personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), nor do we use your data for targeted advertising, marketing, or behavioral profiling.

  1. DATA SHARING & THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS
  • Public Visibility: Submitting a speedrun publishes your chosen nickname, gameplay stats, and video proof links to global public leaderboards. Do not use your real name or private personal details as your nickname.
  • Infrastructure Partners: Our database and backend server infrastructure are hosted using Cloudflare D1 and Cloudflare Workers. Your technical data (including IP address) is securely processed and stored on Cloudflare's global network strictly to operate the leaderboard backend.
  • International Data Transfers: Data processed via Cloudflare may be transferred across international borders. Cloudflare complies with standard contractual clauses (SCCs) and recognized cross-border data transfer frameworks to ensure European and international data protection standards are maintained.
  1. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY (COPPA / GDPR-K)
Our Application and Services are not directed to children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information (including IP addresses for public display) from children under these ages. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through our leaderboard system without parental consent, please contact us immediately at xtrachaosgames@gmail.com, and we will promptly purge the data.
  2. YOUR RIGHTS AND DATA RETENTION
  • Retention: Public leaderboard entries are retained indefinitely to maintain global standings and historical speedrun archives. IP addresses stored in temporary server logs are rotated and deleted periodically.
  • Data Subject Rights (GDPR / CCPA): Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to access, request deletion of, or object to the processing of your data (including IP logs or leaderboard submissions).
  • Requesting Removal: Because we do not use account systems or email logins, you must verify ownership when requesting data deletion. To request removal of a run or associated IP log, contact us at xtrachaosgames@gmail.com with details sufficient to identify the run (such as the exact submission timestamp, chosen nickname, or raw local run logs).
  1. SECURITY
We implement industry-standard security practices through Cloudflare to safeguard backend interactions and protect server data. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or cloud storage network can be guaranteed as 100% secure.
  2. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Structural changes will be highlighted by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and providing an in-game notice within the Application's UI menu.
